Microsoft is opening up its AI-powered Bing and Edge search features to more users, expanding the range of visual and multimodal service offerings and improving chat history, sharing and export functionalities. The platform will allow third-party plugins that can help users complete tasks based on their queries, such as booking a reservation or creating visualisations. The move follows the launch of the new Bing three months ago, which combined search index with large language models to provide cited, up-to-date information and conversational chat functionality. Bing now boasts 100 million daily active users, while daily installs of the Bing mobile app have increased four-fold since its launch.
